Pound Cake Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup cake flour
- 3/4 cup caster sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 13 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature
- 3 tablespoons milk, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F. Grease and lightly flour a loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, lightly whisk the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Add the butter and half of the egg mixture to the dry ingredients. Beat until just combined, then increase the speed and beat for 1 minute.
- Add the remaining egg mixture in two additions, beating briefly after each addition.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top evenly.
- Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
