  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or as needed)
  • ½ medium onion, finely chopped
  • 7 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 cup honey
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 pinch onion powder
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Directions

  • Season the chicken thighs generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear for 3–5 minutes until golden brown on one side.
  • Flip the chicken, then add the chopped onion and garlic. Continue cooking for 5–7 minutes until the chicken is mostly cooked through and the onions are soft. Remove the chicken and set it aside.
