Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups brown sugar
- 1 ½ cups ketchup
- ½ cup red wine vinegar
- ½ cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 ½ tablespoons dry mustard
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper
- 2 dashes hot pepper sauce
Directions
- Gather all the ingredients.
- Add the brown sugar, ketchup, red wine vinegar, water, and Worcestershire sauce to a blender.
- Add the dry mustard, paprika, salt, black pepper, and hot pepper sauce.
- Blend the mixture until smooth and well combined.
- For a deeper flavor and thicker texture, transfer the sauce to a small pot and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
- Boil for about 1 minute, stirring as needed.
- Remove from the heat and allow the barbecue sauce to cool completely.
- Transfer the cooled sauce to a resealable container and refrigerate until ready to use.
