Ingredients
- 1 pound large raw shrimp (16–20 count), peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
- 2 tablespoons mild-flavored honey
- ½ teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or more to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Asian fish sauce (optional)
- 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup thinly sliced green onion
How to Cook
- Ensure shrimp are fully thawed and well drained, then refrigerate while preparing the marinade.
- In a bowl, whisk together garlic, honey, ginger, soy sauce, and fish sauce.
- Add shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat evenly. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for 30–60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over high heat and brush with oil until it begins to smoke slightly.
- Transfer shrimp into the hot skillet in a single layer, setting aside the extra marinade.
- Sear shrimp for 2 minutes, then flip. Pour in the remaining marinade and cook for another minute.
- Turn off the heat, flip shrimp once more, and let sit for about 1 minute until the glaze thickens.
- Garnish with green onions and serve hot over rice or noodles.
