Ingredients

12 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 (8 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon bacon bits
12 ounces jalapeno peppers, seeded and halved
1 cup milk
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup dry bread crumbs
2 quarts oil for frying, or as needed

Directions

Mix cream cheese, shredded Cheddar cheese, and bacon bits together in a medium bowl until the mixture becomes smooth and well combined.

Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeno half, filling them evenly.

Place milk in one bowl, flour in another bowl, and bread crumbs in a third bowl to prepare the coating process.

Dip each stuffed jalapeno into milk, then coat it with flour. Place the coated peppers on a plate and allow them to dry for about 10 minutes.

Dip the peppers into milk again and roll them in bread crumbs until they are fully coated. Let them dry for another 10 minutes and repeat the coating process once more for a thicker crust.

Heat oil in a skillet to 365°F (180°C).

Fry the coated jalapeno poppers in batches for about 2 to 3 minutes until they become golden brown and crispy.

Remove the poppers from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy.
