Ingredients
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour or cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ pound shredded Swiss cheese
- ½ pound shredded Gruyère cheese
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 (1-pound) loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
Directions
- Bring the dry white wine to a simmer in a fondue pot over medium-low heat.
- Stir in the flour and nutmeg until well combined.
- Add the Swiss and Gruyère cheeses gradually, about ¼ pound at a time, stirring after each addition until the cheese melts completely.
- Season the melted cheese mixture with salt.
- If the fondue becomes too thick, add a little more white wine until it reaches your desired consistency.
