Ingredients
- 1/2 pound coarsely ground coffee beans
- 4 1/2 cups cold water
- Cheesecloth
- Coffee filters
Directions
- Place the coarsely ground coffee beans in a large container.
- Slowly pour the cold water over the coffee grounds, making sure they are thoroughly saturated.
- Cover the container with plastic wrap and let the coffee steep at room temperature for 18 to 24 hours.
- Line a strainer with several layers of cheesecloth and place it over a pitcher.
- Pour the coffee mixture through the cheesecloth to strain out the grounds.
- For a clearer cold brew, strain the coffee a second time through coffee filters.
- Store the finished cold brew in the refrigerator.
- Serve the cold brew concentrate over ice, or adjust it with water or other additions according to your preference.
