Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2⅓ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
- Lightly grease baking sheets or use silicone baking mats. Avoid parchment paper if using a cookie press.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and creamy.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, then mix until fully combined.
- Gradually mix in the flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
- If desired, tint portions of the dough with gel food coloring.
- Fill a cookie press with the dough and press cookies onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
- Decorate with sprinkles or gently press a chocolate chip into the center of each cookie if desired.
- Bake for 7–9 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- Once completely cooled, drizzle with melted chocolate if desired and serve.
