Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 3 (1-ounce) packages dry Italian salad dressing mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (16-ounce) jar pepperoncini peppers
  • 8 hamburger buns, split

Directions

  • Place the beef chuck roast in a slow cooker.
  • Rub the dry Italian salad dressing mix evenly over the top of the roast.
  • Pour the water around the roast.
  • Cover and cook on High for 5 to 6 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
  • Remove the cooked beef from the slow cooker.
  • Shred the beef using two forks.
  • Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker.
  • Add the pepperoncini peppers and as much pepperoncini juice as desired for extra flavor.
  • Cover and cook for 1 more hour.
  • Spoon the tender Italian beef onto the split hamburger buns.
