Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons ground paprika
- 2 tablespoons fresh minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 2 pounds large shrimp (21 to 25 per pound), peeled and deveined
Directions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the paprika, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, lemon juice, olive oil, black pepper, dried basil, and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade.
- Toss the shrimp until they are evenly coated.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, turning the shrimp once during the marinating time.
- Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grates.
- Remove the shrimp from the marinade and drain off any excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Place the shrimp on the preheated grill.
- Grill the shrimp for 5 to 6 minutes, turning once halfway through cooking, until they are opaque in the center and fully cooked.
- Remove from the grill and serve immediately.
