Ingredients
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons molasses
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste
- 6 thin slices fresh ginger, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tuna steaks, about 1-inch thick, thawed
Directions
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, sesame oil, molasses, cayenne pepper, ginger, and garlic.
- Place the tuna steaks in a resealable plastic bag or airtight container.
- Pour the marinade over the tuna steaks and coat them evenly.
- Seal the bag or container and marinate at room temperature for 20 minutes.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Remove the tuna steaks from the marinade and discard the remaining marinade.
- Place the tuna steaks in the hot skillet.
- Cook for 1½ minutes on the first side.
- Flip the steaks and cook for 1 minute on the other side for a medium-rare center.
- Remove from the skillet and serve immediately.
